What is the purpose of in-person professional development when there is a virtual option?
In-person professional development creates a hands-on learning environment where educators collaborate, practice new strategies, and leave with classroom-ready tools.
Why do I have to attend multiple In-person professional development sessions?
These opportunities are designed to offer multiple learning experiences and give educators choice, as the SCDE requires participants to earn 12 or more credits to be credentialed to teach Personal Finance. We've streamlined the content to be both interactive and informative, with renewal units of credit offered to support certificate renewal.
I am already certified in Career and Technology Education (CTE), but would like to attend to learn more about the Personal Finance course. May I attend?
Yes! Educators who are already credentialed are welcome to join to deepen their knowledge of Personal Finance concepts.
If I registered but cannot attend, who do I contact?
If you registered, but can no longer attend, please get in touch with Sarah.Ostergaard@moore.sc.edu as soon as possible.
Will I receive a certificate once I complete 12 or more hours of in-person professional development provided by SCCEE?
Yes, educators who attend two or more sessions (12+ hours total) will earn the SCCEE Personal Finance Certification. After completion, participants will receive a digital certificate from SCCEE that can be uploaded to their SC My Educator Portal.
