What should I bring to the Symposium?

What is the purpose of the Personal Finance Symposium?
This professional learning symposium is designed for SC teachers who are not Career and Technical Education (CTE) certified and want / need to acquire the Personal Finance certification and training to teach the .5 unit Personal Finance course.
Why is the Symposium a multi-day event?
The Personal Finance Symposium is structured to provide extensive learning opportunities, as the SCDE’s Office of Educator Quality requires participants to earn 12 or more credits to be credentialed for teaching Personal Finance. We've streamlined the content to be both interactive and informative, with renewal units of credit offered to support certificate renewal.
I am already certified in Career and Technology Education (CTE) but would like to attend to learn more about the Personal Finance course. May I attend?
Yes! CTE educators and those already credentialed are welcome to join if they wish to deepen their knowledge of Personal Finance concepts and required standards of the 1/2 credit Personal Finance course.
Is there a one-day or partial registration fee if I plan to attend only part of the Symposium?
No, there is no partial registration fee or daily rate for the Symposium.
Can I substitute my registration if I can’t attend the Symposium?
Yes, substitutions are allowed. Please contact Sarah Ostergaard at Sarah.Ostergaard@moore.sc.edu to request the substitution form.
